Ok so I connected my Macbook Pro via dvi/hdmi cable and was monkeying around with the display options. I set the display to 1920x1080 but when I wasn't connected to the tv and was just using the LCD on the Macbook screen, the best I can get is 1440x900 so all of the sudden I was like, "what happened to the 1920x1080 option?" So just to set my mind straight because I think I already know the answer but I'm assuming that all the LCD screen on the Macbook can do is 1440x900 right?

My LCD runs at 1080p while connected to MBP. I have no idea how to help you as I don't know anything about your TV.

Your macbook can only do 1440x900. When you connect your TV you will get the 1080 option.
