I'm planning to buy a new laptop. Please help me choose between the two.

M4400
Windows Vista® Business 64-BIT SP1 (Can be upgraded to Windows 7)
Intel® Core™ 2 Quad QX9300 (2.53GHz, 12M L2 Cache, 1066MHz FSB) OR
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T9800 (2.93GHz, 6M L2 Cache, 1066MHz FSB)
NVIDIA Quadro FX 770M, 512MB
4.0GB, DDR2-800 SDRAM
15.4” UltraSharp™ WXGA+ (1440x900) LED Display
160GB Hard Drive, 7200RPM with Free Fall Sensor

MBP 15"
2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
NVIDIA GeForce 9400M + 9600M GT with 512MB
4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM
320GB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200 rpm

I will mainly use this computer on 2D and 3D CAD softwares, like Autocad and Solidworks.
Dell M4400 has NVIDIA Quadro and Intel Quad Core, which has superior performance than MBP.
On the other hand Mac is a lot reliable (stable, virus free, longer battery life) than Windows (from what I've heard. I haven't used mac). If I ever choose MBP, I still have to use boot camp to use the windows native cad software like solidworks.

One has a solid OS. The other has a flawed OS built off already failed Vista.

The hardware on the M440 is stellar, minus the resolution...HDD space, and the RAM (being picky).

If you are going to be using Autocad then I say stick with a Windows Machine. The GPU on the M440 seems more suited for what you are doing.

Agree with Crimson, for your Audocad, Stick with the Dell and Windows.

I just had to leave a comment because I really liked the answers arreis_email got ...

This is something I like about this forum. You wont get any sales pitch here. For some the Mac might not be the right computer after all. Especially if you are after raw performance. The difference here is that people actually tell you that. Good and honest answers, me like.

Keeping it real.

If you are just going to install and mainly use Windows on a Mac I do not see any reason for bying an Mac in the first place.

(I am sorry if this was a little bit off topic!)
