Hello. I need to reformat my hard drive and reinstall my OS. I have the Mac OS CD that came with another computer, but I do not have the CD that came with this computer.

If I reinstall using a different CD, will there be a problem with activating the software? What do I need to do to correct this? Should I call Apple?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

The DVD's that ship with Mac's are system specific and will not install on any but that same system.

Last post I saw about it, someone said they got a replacement set of disks from Apple for $20.
