I've noticed that my adapter becomes quite hot when it is charging my completely drained battery. Last night, I actually placed a small fan in front of it while charging, in hopes of extending its life (I've heard of a few people who've replaced their adapters more than once). Has anyone else noticed this? I assume PowerBooks are similar in this respect as well.

I have replace my power adpater three times. They do get hot, but that is not why I have replaced them. Mine were due to shorts in the cord. I must be have on them. I have had one disk and two brick power adpaters, in two and one half years. My wife must take better care of hers or has a better one. She has not has a problem in a year and half.

my powerbook adaptors do get quite warm. I have two adaptors so i should have plenty of life as each adaptor is used about half-time. I wouldnt worry about it, but i do not know, i havent had my powerbook long enough to know.
