Formatting a Windows HD

I have my old 30gb hd from my desktop that i just sold (to pay for my powermac). I wanted to stick it into my powermac and use to store junk files. It still has my old windows xp OS, and files on it. Do i just stick it into the powermac? How to i format it? thanks!

G4 1Ghz OS X 10.4.7
Mount the drive and go in disk utility and use the erase function, and be very very careful that you are doing this to the mounted (as external for example) drive! It's not possible to over double check!
