headphone jack being inconsistent (iphone 3g)

ive had my iphone since the end of march. i love it to death. but when i plug my headphones into it and put in my pocket and walk around the sound is inconsistent seems like the jack is going out. the music goes back and forth from left headphone to the right earpiece.

my ? is do i have a legitimate complaint with apple, or am i SOL..

I doubt it is the jack. More likely it is at the headphone plug, especially if you're carrying it around in your pants pocket.

another point is that it happens with my apple headphones, some skull candy headphones i bought a month ago, and a monster audio 3 ft cable i use in my truck while driving...so ya im a little bugged out by it

Be sure to check the hole, it's notorious for storing lint and causing problems.

If you have the issue with multiple sound devices, make an appointment with a genius to get it resolved. The price of the warranty is built into the product for a reason, so exercise it!
