Help Stolen Ibook !

Hey guys I need Help. My iBOOK was stolen and I want to know if there is a way to track it down I have important information in it.

This site below is Canadian, so I'm not sure, if some of the things that they saying will stand the same in the United States. Someone said report it stolen and give serial number to the police to put in the database of stolen property, so if it is pawned, your mac can be tracked. And another thing is to get your insurance to cover your loss.

thanks man. I dont have insurance and the warranty expired long time ago. I will give the serial nnumber to the police. But that will take some time. I wanted to know if I can do it myself. Thank u though neye:

You might be out of luck to take it into your own hands. I'm not sure, if there is any other way to recover your iBook. Be sure to change all your passwords online, you don't want to be a victim of identity theft.

Oh man !! thanks for that I had totally forgot about that. My email passwords are saved in the ibook im gonna change that right now. Thanks

Well thanks for the article. I just changed the passwords. I read the articles and there is no way to track an iBOOK down after a system clean up with the recovery disks. And this is because it will erase any tracking program that is in there, not that I had one but it wouldnt have worked any way. Well im going to report it to the police and give them the serial number, maybe they might find it in a pawn shop or something.

Hopefully, a person that needed quick cash, stole it and is looking for a pawn shop, unfortunately.

Look on eBay and sort the search by those nearest you. You might find it there.

Bit difficult if you need to use a laptop for school/work/university...
I mean: That's the whole reason to buy a laptop - mobility!

I bought mine so I could lay in bed and be on computer @ same time.

And I was just about to take my iBook to uni too....

Argh...stupid 'Edit' facility not working....

I really hope your iBook turns up too. If you don't mind me asking, was he or she aware you had an iBook and went for that specifically? I'm just curious because I may be thinking twice about whether I should be taking out my iBook in public places now...

It wasnt even a stupid bathroom break I would have felt better since the body comes first sometimes. I was in school doing some paper work for my HS diploma, and I was printing a recomendation letter from the ibook. Then when I was done printing i left the ibook in the computer lap, and I even told a teacher that was there to keep an eye on my baby, then I came back and it was gone. I called the principal and the teacher that was there didnt see anything and the ibook was like two feet away from him. He said he went out of the room for a while and he didnt notice the ibook was missing. The problem was that it was after school so there was nobody in school, maybe it was the guy that cleans the building. Well if someone shows up with an ibook to school ill be checking serial number, and everything on that ibook. Thanks guys.

I take mu ibook with me every where..... *almost* out of 6500+ members on this board how many times do you hear about a stolen ibook... Yes ur iBook could be stollen but come on... if you lived you life on things that could happen then you would have nothing at ALL......
