Whenever I try to load about.com or ehow.com, in either Safari or Firefox, I get an error message:
Safari can’t connect to the server.
Safari can’t open the page “[page url]” because Safari can’t connect to the server “[page url]”.
I also had a problem in which one of those webpages to connect to a hotel's wifi service wouldn't load, so had to have a tech support person activate the connection by phone manually.
I've searched on google about this and tried multiple solutions, but nothing seems to help. I've checked and none of the proxies are checked. I removed PeerGuardian and all of its components.
If anyone could help me with this, I would be really grateful.
P.S. I'm running OS 10.4.11 and Safari 4.0, but this error occurred before I upgraded to Safari 4, and possibly even before using the beta, though I can't remember.
Thanks again
