Mixed up f-keys

Alright, so... My cat walked across my keyboard and she must have done something to change my settings because the f7-f12 keys no longer change volume but instead control expose and dashboard. Also, there is now a black box that outlines any link or text box I pass the mouse over. It's very irritating and seems to mess with scrolling. I would like to get rid of the black box outline and get all my f-keys back the way they were. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

I figured this out.
For anyone with the same problem...

Command+F5 will fix this issue.

If u go into Sys Preferences/Keyboard & Mouse/Keyboard you can use the check box to set the F keys as you wish. Also note the shortcuts header there as well and have a peek.
