Can't see 802.11N network or connect to it

My roommate recently installed a NETGEAR RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N Router. It worked great the first day and the next morning, but when I closed my laptop to take it downstairs with me I was unable to connect to or see the network. I can see and use the g band but not the n. After turn the computer off and waiting a few minutes to restart I was once again connected to the n band network, closed my laptop later on and once again no network. Now when I restart it sees the 802.11n network but drops it and then it no longer shows up in my list of available networks. Now my roommate is having the same issue with his MacBook Pro.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
