Authenticating

Hey everyone.

I have a password set for my user account in 10.3.8. Now when i drag a picture out from safari out onto my desktop, and i drag it from the desktop to the pictures folder, it asks me to Authenticate and asks for ym password. This is also happening when i install some programs. It works when i put in my password, but its kind of annoying.. Is there anyway to get rid of the authenticate thing??? Thanks in advance.\

Try fixing the permissions as you shouldn't have to authenticate for that.

It would generally indicate that the permissions are set up wrong on the pictures folder. To check this you could control click on your 'Pictures' folder which is in the 'Users' folder on your HD and go to 'get info' . Have a look at the permissions triangle click down menu and see if it says your name as the owner. Change it if it's wrong.
