I just got a unibody MBP and I want to migrate everything from my old MBP to it. Whenever I try to backup my old MBP it stops at 27GB and restarts for some reason (therefore stopping the backup process) and when I try to migrate directly from Migration Assistant, it also goes wrong, and comes up with an error message.

Any idea what I can do?? I'm getting pretty frustrated. :Shouting:

I would connect the two machines via Firewire (you'll need a FW800=>FW800 cable). Then, start the old MBP in Target Disk Mode. It should be a snap.

If it doesn't work, you may need to run a Verify/Repair Disk on the old machine before attempting it.
