First - thank you in advance to anyone who has advice or suggestions. I am running OS10.5 on a MacPro. Almost ever since I got this machine it has had problems shutting down - it typically won't shut down. The screens clear but even if I leave it fro several hours it continues to show the little spinning dial. I have tried several things that have not worked but recently I noticed that if I connect to our server and then disconnect just prior to shutting down - it shuts down. This has made me think that the reason it won't shut down has something to do with the program(s) that is suppose to close the network connection is not working or something like that but I don't have any idea how to test out my hypothesis - any suggestions. I hate to have to hold in the start button to shut it down every night. :)
