The last two times I cold-started my iMac (we usually just put it in sleep mode) something distrubing happened: it opened to my password-protected administrator account! Any idea how/why this happends and how to make it stop? Seems like a HUGE security hole.

Open System Preferences, Security, General tab, and make sure you have "Disable automatic login" checked off and "Require password to wake......." also checked off.

Regards.

chscag,

Thanks for the quick reply. Both boxes are/were unchecked. Any other thoughts?

He's telling you to place check marks in both of those boxes.

As in when you "check off" items accomplished on a list - you place a check next to them.

Got it. That appears to have fixed the problem. Thank you!
