Me and my friends like to make acoustic YouTube videos, and I know a lot of the people on YouTube use the built in iSight to make their videos. I recently got a MacBook with iMovie '09 and we tried to record a video, and the video quality was great, but the audio was horrendous. If we got too loud it would just sound like crap.

Is there something that I'm doing wrong? Is there a way to make the sound better? Or should I just screw it and get a microphone?

Thanks.

Well, any microphone will sound like crap if you distort the input volume by being too loud. Try moving further away.

But you're never going to get really good audio from that mic. I'd recommend you get an external mic.
