monitor issues

got a question, I had installed memory, & a new hard drive in my friends macbook 13 in tonight.. just got done.. model is late (2006) once i turned the computer on I notice there was a 1 inch wide white bar going down the center of the monitor (vertical) then the same on top horizontal. everything else is fine.. its like a white stripe that cover the middle of the screen you can see everything else around it tried reseting the pram & still nothing can you help. is there a solution please help

no idea, could be a problem with the video cable, or just dead pixels
