A Little Help with Excel?

Well, I finally moved out and have a job for the summer before returning to college in the fall.

I was reading a blog on trumpuniversity.com and the big boss himself stressed the importance of knowing where your money goes. I would really like to create an Excel chart that tracks what I bring in and where I spend it.

I have absolutely no experience with Excel, so If anyone knows of a simple way to do this task please speak up!

Not Excel but I've used Squirrel as an up and coming money manager - does budgets etc. and is pretty reasonable (also has an iphone app so you can take it with you on the go). Would be simpler to use than learning spreadsheets (though don't be put off, the basics are not that hard).
