Its kind of cool, but definitely feels like it needs a little something more. Maybe some color change/distortion, that maybe just my preference though.

Yes I gree with cdringe1. It should give a sense of speed and movement, which it doesn´t. Improvable. ;)

take a shot of the background with a higher f-stop. Then when you shoot the skateboarder scene lower shutter speed to around 1/60 or so will show more movement. Something like that anyway.

looks cool and well done though.
