Quick time won't play my .m4v file

15" 2.53ghz MBP
I just converted a file to .m4v using HandBrake, and I tried to open it in QuickTime but nothing happens, the format is set at MP4 and the videp codec is set at H.264 (x264). I'm a noob when it comes to this and I think I did something wrong with the things I previously mentioned if someone could help me out that would be great.
