I just started using a Mac a month ago and Leopard is working great. However, I was wondering what would be so special about Snow Leopard for which I should spend around 30 bucks? I generally use the computer for some college stuff, browsing, adium, movies and music so considering my usage would snow leopard make a huge difference or not.

Just generally curious. I'd highly appreciate your help :)

Oh and one more thing. Can we upgrade it through the internet or would be needing a CD? As I'm from Pakistan thats why I am asking this actually as I don't think the CD would be available here that soon.

Unless they're going to do something different, every major new release of OS X has been available on disc only.

Hello people I'm new here.

Snow Leopard is going to be released in September 2009.

@The thread starter,I installed Snow Leopard(Beta) on my MacBook today and I can say that it's very much similar to Leopard in looks and feel. But it's fast....by fast I mean much faster. Basically,Snow Leopard is just the polished version of Leopard inclined towards the developers. For us,the consumers there is only speed and a few features here and there. For just $29, I'd like to upgrade to Snow Leopard.

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience with us. I, being a user would definitely like my MacBook to be much more faster. Of course, it already has an amazing speed but for $29 getting more speed is a reasonable deal in my opinion. Thank you :)
