I seem to be getting the same message that the 'STARTUP DISK' is almost full.

Even more so when a fresh install of leopard has been done.

Even when I've got about 180gb spare space left on the hard drive ??

I've deleted all files that aren't being used using all the appropriate programs that are advised to use in this instance.

Any ideas on how to stop the 'Startup Disk is almost full' message appearing, even when you 'check' the box to prevent being shown the message again.

Thanks.

Is your hard drive divided into more than one partition? What does Disk Utility show when you boot the machine from your original install media?

Regards.

i also experienced this problem of lost hard disk space. but there is no partition involved. So do you know where the problem lies?
