My coworker is using a Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter with her 13 inch macbook and NEC projector. Everything was working well for the past three days, but today when she booted everything up the projector only showed a condensed version of the screen and there were no icons. We tried a different projector and cable, but it still did not work. I also tried different display settings and it did not work. She's not sure if she hit something by accident when shutting down her Mac yesterday. Thanks for the help.

On the Mac, open System Preferences, Displays. Make sure the NEC Projector is shown and that the display is set to "Mirror".

It sounds like she has the external display preference set to "extended" rather than "mirror".

Post back if that doesn't resolve it.

Regards.
