I was installing Win7 again last night as a VM on my MBP. Everyone seems enamored with its improvement so I decided, yet again, to install a copy to play with. My question is this... let's say I somehow decide it's great, reliable, meets my needs for running Windows apps, etc... I go ahead and start to accumulate data, install applications and come to rely on them in the Win7 VM and what not. What happens when it's released "for real" on October 22nd? I'm assuming it will cease to run at some point and MS will want their money for a "real" version of the OS. Has anyone heard anything in regards to this? I'm not really worried as Mac works for most of what I do (with the exception of some online web based training running off of ActiveX, etc), but I am curious if somewhere out there is some sort of notice that this version quits on 10/22. Anyone have some insights on this one?
