OK so I've never bought a used computer before and I don't really know how to price them. I want a G5 iMac... this guy is asking $450 but the problem is it doesn't have an iSight camera which kinda bugs me. What do you think? Would you by it? Do you think I should ask for less?

G5 iMac G5 20inch computer.
1.5 gig RAM
250 gb Hard Drive

It seems a little pricey to me, that's around £300 or so. Good machines, but a bit long in the tooth, and you won't be able to run Snow Leopard later.

Agreed with DB. That is the 20" iMac just before the 20" iSight model and was still a good machine. It's the very first line that had all the Capacitor issues. I would rather have the iSight model but still that price is not bad for what it is.

I might add though I also agree with others that getting a Power PC machine now will be increasingly an issue as more and more software goes Intel Only and will not run on the Power PC machine. Leopard will run fine but as time goes on you will run into software you might want that will not run.

So sure, try and get the price down if you can! It can not hurt! :D

Can't hurt to try.

I would buy it if your happy with Leopard because, as Kevriano stated, that's as high OS wise as you're going to get. Note that aside from that, it is also a PPC Mac. I'm not saying that universal/ppc builds of software are going to disappear but it will start to get harder and harder.

Hey guys, I ended up buying a 17" G5 iMac but it's an Intel Core Duo and it came with a free printer/scanner so I thought it was a better deal.

Cool! You can update your Mac Specs now :D
At least you're all set for later software releases too.
