Hi,

Does anybody know whether it's possible to save settings in the finder.
Command F opens a small oblong folder a third of which is a side bar. mmm not really that good is it.

Click to dump the sidebar, move the remaining folder up to the top left-hand corner then pull the bottom right- hand corner till the finder is fully open.
Is it possible to save this configuration.

I have googled big-time without much success, am I being stupid, or is that it.

Explain "Click to dump the sidebar" please. We understand about resizing the Finder window. After having done that, click the close (red) button, and next time you click the Finder icon in the Dock, the window *should* reopen at the size you last closed it. Whether that situation lasts beyond a complete reboot I'm not certain.

As for Cmd-F from Desktop, that opens a search window, not quite the same as Finder.
