Hey guys,

I'm having issues with a month old 1tb HD that i just put in my mac pro. Of the 4 hd's in there i'm only having issues with this one and it isn't even my OS X drive.

It jsut kind of happened yesterday, spinning ball right after clicking on the drive in finder. Relaunched it again to replicate the problem and it happened no problem.

Is my drive bad? I ran it through techtool 5 and it found no issues. Repaired permissions on the Mac HD and rebooted. Worked for a little bit then all of a sudden bam. go into finder , click the 1tb hd and spinny ball.

Any Suggestions?

How about the less obvious - any chance of a intermittent connection somewhere?

with what? the HD itself?

I do not see how that is at all likely but I'm not sure if thats what you mean.

Sounds Hardware issue from your description, is it temperature related, it works Ok until it warms up to ? Any chance of shifting it to another Bay in the Pro see if fault moves as well.

Ok Colin,

I've switched my bay 3 & 4 Hd's and now I can't seem to replicate the problem, and just transfered 20 gb in about 3-4 minutes.

I don't quite understand. And just before that I went in, fresh rebooted computer. Clicked on a folder sscrolled, clicked, scrolled and then it hangs.

HD temps are normal.n I'll keep going this way and see how it is.

Thanks for your help.
