As opposed to just nightly builds of Chromium, Google has "officially" released a developer's preview of Google Chrome. You can get it here for anyone interested.

Don't expect this to be perfect, hence the developer epithet.

EDIT: Read this first - some things won't work, so this is a head's up.

Thanks for the heads up Van. I was going to try it but realized it will not run on my iMac G5 PPC! Will have to wait till this evening when I am on my Intel Mac.

The edit I added is definitely worth a read - somethings don't work (which is expected though). Good to fool around with but not much else.

I got it earlier today, I can't believe how slowly the development has progressed. I think the development state is very telling about Google's intentions.

Agreed CWA. They really seem to be dragging their feet with the OSX and Linux versions. I always did want to try it on OSX though so now at least we can mess with it a bit.

It is slow and the lack of certain features makes this a little unusable (it is a developer preview, so I'ill excuse this).

It's surprising that development is this slow because if you look at all the builds the chromium team makes and how often the code changes, it makes you wonder what the disjoint is between the chromium and the chrome teams. For a company that prides itself on innovation and openness, they sure don't seem to show OS X any respect in terms of development.

On Google Chrome as I type this. Agreed it's on the slow side for sure.

I tried to bookmark Google to try it. The bookmark didn't show up until I closed the window and then was gone again upon relaunch. I realize this is a developers preview but you would think that something as simple as bookmark would be easy to implement.

On the positive side, it did the sunspider benchmark pretty quickly.
