Background image location.

Hello.

Sometimes, when I'm browsing the Web, I see a picture
I like and set it as my desktop background. My question is:

What folder, does this pic get saved to?

It should go directly into the downloads folder, depending on what OS you use.
Leopard has the downloads folder in the dock.

If u mean folder for selecting as desktop pic Try ~Library/Desktop Pictures

I'm running Tiger, and don't see a "downloads" folder, nor can the pic be found in: /Library/Desktop Pictures. Here's the question again: When I'm browsing the Web, and find a pic, and
set it as my desktop picture, what folder does that get saved too?

Well it should definitely be in Library>desktop pictures in Tiger, unless you have inadvertently changed save locations.
Next time hold down alt when saving, it should give you the option to save where you want.
Alternatively, if you know the title of the picture, use "find" or spotlight and see if it shows up.

I'm just hold down <ctrl> and click the picture and select
"Use Image as Desktop Picture". I don't actually "save" anything,
but when the system changes my desktop background to the
image I clicked on, it HAS to save it somewhere. In Windows XP,
it saves it to the Web folder.

(for Leopard) Make sure that you're in the the Macintosh HD Library (under Devices) and not the library in your personal folder (under Places).

You'll see the Desktop Pictures folder
