I'm getting a MacPro this Friday. I'm in the process of getting an Apple display but it won't be here until a few days later. My question is this: Will connecting the new MacPro to a Dell monitor (P1130) which is six years old (crt) cause any harm to the MacPro? Would it be better to just wait until the Apple display comes?

Your Mac's Specs
MacMini 14.3, 8.1 & 4.1, OS 13.5, 10.14, & 10.11 & 10.6; Macbook Pro 8.2, OS 10.12.
The video card in the Pro will handle the CRT monitor just fine. Question is, do you have the appropriate connecting cable/plug?
