When creating an event in iCal, it repeats the date and it becomes so long I am able to see if the time is AM or PM. How can I remove the repeating information.

Here is a picture to show what I mean.

anyone?
I still have this problem. I got 10.6 and it still did not change anything? Is there a file I have to update myself to set the date info?

Try going into Sys Prefs/International/Formats and then Customize and then for each of the Short, Long Medium and Full selections in the Show panel, set it the way you prefer. Will it work for Snow Leopard - not sure but check it out.

If that doesn't help, try moving your com.apple.iCal.plist file to the desktop. If nothing improves, you can always move it back to where it came from. (your Library folder, in Preferences)

Thank you very much! This solved my issue.
