I am shopping for a Canon miniDV camera (probably a ZR960).

1st question: Does my iMac take a 4-pin or 6-pin firewire cable (and how can I tell by looking)?

2nd question: If I download my video to my iMac and then use iMovie 09 to do some editing, can I then upload my edited video back to my camcorder (so that I can play the edited version on my TV)?

Thanks in advance.........

The camera will have a 4-pin connector while your iMac will have a 6-pin connector.

The newer iMovies, 08 & 09 do not have upload capability to a camera. The older iMovie HD has this ability but Apple has pulled as a download option.

Thanks, xstep. As noted in another one of my questions that you answered, I subsequently decided to get a high-def camcorder (Canon XF11).
