Quicksilver 2002, Dual G4 1ghz 768mb 40gb USB2.0 OSX 10.5.6
Had to replace the hard drive and I had a full install cd of OSX 10.0.3 and the upgrade copy of 10.1 but when my quicksilver 2002 boots up, it flashes the question mark about 2 times, then shows an old style mac with a happy face then you wait about 15 seconds later and a flashing twirling cd appears spinning and about 1 minute later a weird gray box appears with a broken folder in it like it was torn in two.

I have reset the Pram and the NVRAM according to other sites and can not get this to install. I had Ubuntu on it but the drive died, so I have a new drive and cannot get the disc to load to the menu.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks. :(

10.0 is pretty old. CDs don't last forever - there's a chance it could have become unreadable over that time.

Get yourself 10.4 Tiger. Cheetah and Puma were buggy and clumsy.
