mail setup problem

hi. i'm running osx 10.3.9. i'm trying to set mail to work with blueyonder/virginmedia.com using the instructions for osx 10.3 setup on the virginmedia website. unfortunately all options on the mail drop down boxes are greyed out so i can't even select preferences to get started. can someone help? :[

Can I assume you are using these instructions? Do you have any other accounts setup?
