I currently own a white macbook, 1.83 GHZ, 1GB Ram, I would like to up grade to either a 2 GB OR 4GB of RAM... I have heard to either purchase from here or ebay as going directly through Apple is expensive..

Please give me some advice on whether this will work and where and how I should purchase the upgrade?

Your machine can only take 2 GB of memory although it has been reported that 3 GB will work. That would mean either 2 x 1 GB modules (according to Apple) or 1 x 1 GB module + 1 x 2 GB module (according to some).

Where to buy? I recommend staying away from eBay. Buy from either Crucial or OWC.

Regards.

Thank you, What am I looking at for a price? Also can I not just buy a 2GB RAM,.... Are there certain brands that will work better than other brands, high end- low end etc...???
