I have the 2.8 Quad-Core system and have the standard Western Digital SATA drive that came with it for my boot/system drive. It's been running fine since I got it in December but the other day I made a system settings changed to an external audio mixer and the system grey screened on me.
When I rebooted I got the flashing folder with the ? in it. I found out there are a few things that can cause that and tried to recover several different ways (PRAM reset, system folder/file reset, etc.) including wiping the drive out and doing a fresh install of Mac OS X.
I can boot to a USB drive just fine, I have run disk utility on the drive and it checks out all green, it even took the fresh install without errors. I can't find anything wrong with the drive but the Mac Pro won't boot to it.
Any ideas?
