Hi all i recently bought a WD 25 gb passport hard drive. This is run of usb. I am using for time machine for backing up my MacBook. All was well after a day then all of a sudden the drive started mounting and un-mounting on its own. Then the drive would not show at all. I could hear the drive spinning.
Tried to use disk utility , could see the drive but was not able to reformat or repair. Took it back to PC world who put it on a p.c. and managed to reformat it. It now shows on my Mac book. Has any body else had any issues or problems with external hard drives that run off the usb? Thanks Chris.
