Adding FTP/network disk to Finder sidebar?

Just out of curiosity, is there a way to add a network location/disk icon to the sidebar menu in Finder, so that I can simply drag and upload things to my server rather than using an FTP client? If so, how would I go about setting that up? Or is that something that would be dependent upon what my host allows?
