I've downloaded a lot of data recently to catch up with Jack Bauer on 24, but my disk drive has become very full. So I deleted the files along with many other and moved my music to an external drive. I have also emptied the trash. And yet I still have not seen the available memory on the hard drive increase. Is there some secret step I need to take to get my disk space back, please help.

The disk space should have come back.

You could try and use Disk Inventory X to figure out what is eating up that space

You can use the Disk Inventory X to find out which files are taking up your HD space. Please DO NOT delete system or any other files unless you are sure that it won't affect your system.
