Hi,
I have a iMac G3 and when I try to boot up using the power button on the keyboard nothing happens. But I think the button still works as when I press it when I am booted in to tiger it asks to confirm I want to shut down.
Is there a way to fix this?

Well it is getting pretty old technology. Firstly are you connected directly to the iMac and not through a USB hub? If you are, then try running Repair Permissions and see if there is any improvement.

Failing that see if you can access another keyboard.

When the pram battery gets low the button may not work on an Imac G3.

No I am not using a usb hub and I have tried permissions.
What is the pram battery and can it be replaced or recharged?

Okay here is a link to replacing the PRAM battery. Do you know if it is the original battery and has the iMac been left unplugged lately? As batteries get older this will flatten them faster:-
