I am trying to watch a .MKV movie file through Perian on Quicktime. It plays just fine but the subtitles will not go away. Any thoughts? Different player?

OK, so I just tried playing it with Plaxo and it's fine - no subtitles. Is it really must a matter of the player being used? I plan on transferring this .MKV movie file to a friend's PC and I assume he will use Windows Media Player or, maybe, Quicktime. Will he have the same problem?
