cant restore first gen iphone

got my iphone first gen replace at apple store. before went i backed up phone. came back with new phone tried to restore to back up and i get an unknown error occurred (-32) message. what can i do?

I believe you'll have to restore as a new phone, I believe the back up on iTunes will only work in the phone it was taken from. If thats the case then after you restore just re-sync and you'll be all set.
