Creative came out with those 3 years ago. Any new ones that are around have been sitting in someone's warehouse for at least 2 years.

Would suggest maybe looking at their current speakers in that price range, the T6100.

Here is Creatives current line-up of speakers - link.

Can't give you any help as to how good or not they'll be. Look for reviews, try amazon maybe.

Creative is infamous for not telling you in their specs what inputs are available on their speaker systems.

MBP only has 2.1 Channel Sound card output..
To use full 5.1 channels u'll also need external sound card.

You only need to get an external sound card if your receiver/speakers only have analog input.

If you use digital toslink (optical) output, it will output via 5.1 and does support Dolby Digital and DTS. If you are using DVD Player, you may need to enable this in DVD Player prior to inserting the disk.

This is why I mentioned above about Creative not specifying which inputs are available on their speakers. If you want 5.1, you really need to invest in speakers with available optical in to avoid the need for an external sound card.
