Gmail outgoing server issues in Mail

MacBook Pro 17" LED-Backlite display, 2.5GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB memory, 512MB VRAM, 320GB HD
So a few days ago I went to send an E-Mail through my mail program and it lists my gmail's account outgoing servers as "offline" I have not changed ANY settings what so ever in either the Mail program or my account at gmail.com. I have since just been managing my email through gmail.com. Has anyone come into this problem?

Hmmm ... I have no solution but I do have the same issue. The Gmail outgoing mail server (I use imap.gmail.com) appears offline. But I'm still able to send emails trough my gmail account with the Mail email client.
