I recently just did the 10.5.7 update, and i have noticed some problems with how my MBP has been working. For example, OSX takes much more RAM than it normally does to run, but i just noticed that it doesn't recognize my printer anymore. I just re-downloaded the drivers, and still nothing. What could be the problem?

Just for the record, which printer is this that no longer works since the update?

It's the Canon MP530 multifunction printer.

I will check around and see what I can find.

Interesting thing is I have not tried to print anything since before the 10.5.7 update the other day. I checked and no printer was installed. I was able to re install the driver and all seems fine. I wonder why printers are going away with this update?

Well, i restarted the computer after reinstalling the drivers, and the printer is still not recognized. I really need to start using my printer again too.

I guess no one has been able to figure it out at all? I was doing some searching around on Google, it's the same with other people too.

I could find nothing specific to your printer and 10.5.7 at all. Just basic people complaining about drivers, but nothing caused by the update.

Also my printer not being there was me doing a complete reinstall (Erase and Install) after a Time Machine backup and forgot to set up the printer. So it had nothing to do with 10.5.7.
