I am thinking about getting Windows 7 Ultimate because it comes with Windows XP (VM mode). The processor has to have virtualization built-in to be able to take advantage of the VM mode. I went to Steve Gibson's website (GRC) to run a free program called Securable. From the test results it looks like my Intel Core 2 Duo has Hardware Virtualization built-in, but it is currently Locked. I might be able to unlock it (BIOS) but I would like to hear from others on this issue. I am using Apple's Boot Camp to run Windows XP.
