I just transferred all my music into iTunes from my PC, how come it doesnt look for an album name on them? Will this affect my iPod when it comes? All of them have titles and artists but only some have genre and album.

If you go to Edit in the menu bar, and "View Options" and click on Album, the column will show up. I'm not sure if that is what you mean

No there is not an album name in the album column, how do i get it to update all my songs so there are album names and what not.

Try out iEatBrains. It renames the mp3s that you have retrieves all the info that you want like album.

In the app, go to "Choose songs..."
Go to "Library" or a playlist, holding down the "Command" key, select the mp3s with missing info.
Then click "Add to Tagging List", then "Done".
Lastly, "Update iTunes with ALL matched songs".
