Get X11

Hi I am trying to get into photo editing and I download gimp but I found that I need X11. After looking online I found you could get it from the OS disk but I don't have that disk anymore. Then i tryed downloading it from apple but when i tryed to install it it told me "You cannot install X11 on this volume. Newer software already exists on your computer." What does this mean? Also how do i get it?

Are you sure you don't already have it installed? Look in /Applications/Utilities/.

Who's to know if that will work. That X11 is old and tested for 10.3 - 10.3.9. You can try it but it may not work.

Unless you have 10.3, it won't work.
Again, the only way to get X11 for any version past 10.4 is to use the install discs that came with your Mac.
There is no download available.

Well if anyone would like to no i did a search for x11 download tiger on google and got a post from this forum as second result and it gave me the page were i could get x11. I downloaded it and it works.
