Hello

I'm sure like many people who have tried to install XP with Boot Camp I have received the message "Press any key to continue" after windows first reboots. The problem seems to be a failure to be offered the option to format the new partition. When installing XP on a PC this is always performed after the first reboot.
I am using a genuine XP Windows SP2 disc
I would be very grateful if anyone could shed some light on this problem for me

Thank You

When a Boot Camp partition is created, it's formatted (quick format) as FAT since the Boot Camp assistant is not able to format a partition as NTFS. After the machine reboots to install Windows (XP or Vista) a screen should appear offering a choice of which partition is to be formatted.

Here is where the actual format is accomplished, whether it be NTFS (required for Vista) or FAT-32. The partition to be formatted in this step should be listed as drive c "Boot Camp".

Are you missing this step when setting up Windows XP? Make sure you're not somehow overlooking it. See this link for the BC instructions.

Regards.
