Trouble installing Leopard

I purchased a new PowerMac just about the time that Leopard was being introduced. The computer came with Tiger installed but I go a free upgrade to Leopard desk which I have never bothered to install. I have Leopard on my other Macs but don't use any of the new features.

I now want to upgrade to the new version of Foto Magico which requires Leopard. When I attempt the install the installation software says it can't find a version of 10.4 to update which is ludicrous because I am using 10.4.11. I then get into a nasty loop trying to quit the install and get the disk out and how to turn it off and manually remove the disk

I have tried a few times but always the same issue arises.

Can anyone help

thanks Peter
