Desktop Icon Removal

Somehow I managed to get a Safari icon on my desktop as well as on my dock. I prefer to keep my desktop as clean as possible but I can't figure out how to get rid of the safari icon. Can't drag it to the trash (like I do with my iPhone software files etc.) as the icon on the dock won't work. What's the story?

So I figured it out. Just drag and drop back to Applications lol. I feel dumb but since no one replied with 13 views, I don't feel too dumb
